Simple, define destiny. Is there such a thing as destiny? Does destiny control you? or the opposite? I will show you an example of my definition of Destiny.

Destiny is nothing. Luck is nothing. These two terms are only made by us idiots (humans). But since this topic is centered around Destiny, I shall focus this post almost entirely on Destiny.

As I said, Destiny is nothing as it carries no real, solid meaning. We humans refer it as what is supposed to happen to a person in terms of well, reasoning. In the dictionary, Destiny is the predetermined course of events happening to one's life. A more proper term for Destiny is 'Result' or 'Reaction'. Those two words mentioned latterwise have real and solid meaning.

That's why I avoid using the terms Destiny and Luck. Because if we humans were more observant, we wouldn't make words like Luck, Destiny or Fate. Everything in life happens in what the things you do and an intelligent person would know the result of whatever he/she does. An intelligent person wouldn't view life as predetermined, so Destiny wouldn't be in his/her vocabulary. Luck is similar because it all depends on unseen probability and reflex. Ok, we humans are not that stupid. We are just not intelligent enough.

i think destiny is just a goal/desires and we control it.
we like to think that greater force is leading us towards there becoz we are afraid of following it ourselves and it feels safe to think that something so great (destiny) that we have no control of; therefore we can't stuff up.
and if we do we blame it on "its our destiny it was meant to b"
we're afriad.
we call it destiny.
it helps loosen the weight off our shoulders.

Interesting. However, external forces affect with our goals/dreams. Destiny isn't necessarily your goal in life, as you could get run over by a bus anytime. Goals in my opinion, are what helps us better control our destiny to our desires, however; our destiny is not always in our control.

i think fate is what becomes of us. destiny leads us to our fate.
i dunno if thats philosophical enough, but it sounds good atm.

Well, through dictionary.com. destiny and fate are synonyms but they differ in some terms. Let us assume our life as a story book. Destiny is the happy ending whereas fate is the bad ending. Well, that's just how I assume the difference between those words.

In other cases, I consider both words the same.

this debate is fun!
althought humans can nvr agree on the same definition. i see fate as our ending/wat becomes of us. such as fate cld b u ending up with ur true love, or dying. but destiny is sumthing thats drives us there.
and yes i agree we dun have total control but we have control to an extent. we can avoid things happening. such as us getting fat.
we cld eat less.
